Description
In August we take our strongest hundred hives to Wales to forage on the Llandegla heather moors beside the Vale of Llangollen. In a good year, normally after a wet June, the bees produce this highly prized thixotropic honey. The heather nectar is quite acidic due to the ericaceous peat moors resulting in a rich, complex flavour.
Serving suggestion:
Delicious spread over hot toast or crumpets.
Precautions:
- Honey is not suitable for people with a severe allergy to pollen or other bee products.
- Honey should not be given to infants under 12 months of age.
